Timeline

The timeline traces all the events of your organization: incidents, crises, escalations, notifications, re-assignments and changes (deployments, infrastructure, ...).

The timeline traces, in a single chronological feed, all the events that occurred within your organization. It is accessible from the main Tools tab, then Timeline.

In particular, it lets you correlate an incident with a recent change: an application deployment, an infrastructure change, ...

Events displayed

The timeline gathers:

  • incidents (new incidents)
  • crises (openings and resolutions)
  • automatic escalations
  • re-assignments
  • notifications sent
  • changes: application deployments, infrastructure changes, and other changes

Filters let you display only some types of events, and the timeline can be shown in a compact or expanded view.

Declaring a change

The Declare a change button lets you manually record a change in the timeline. Three types of changes are available:

  • Application deployment: the release of a service or an application (application name, version or commit hash, link to the deployment job, environment)
  • Infrastructure change: a change to the infrastructure or platform (scope concerned, description of the change)
  • Other: any other change (title and description)

A correlation identifier and a date can also be specified.

Sending events through the API

Changes can also be pushed automatically from your external systems, for example from your CI/CD pipelines on each deployment. To do so, generate an API key from the API keys button of the timeline (Owners only), then send a POST request:

curl -X POST https://api.astry.fr/integrations/timeline/20260317/event/YOUR_KEY \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"eventType":"app-deployment","appName":"my-service","version":"v1.2.3","environment":"prod"}'

The eventType field is app-deployment (application deployment), infra-change (infrastructure change) or custom (custom event, with a title and a description). The environment field lets you associate the event with the relevant environment. Finally, a correlationId makes the call idempotent: if two events are sent with the same correlationId, only one is recorded.

Note: Only Owners can delete events from the timeline.
